A Love Like Liberation

A poem.

I settle into her skin like a bear ready for hibernation
A moment in time, frozen, when our bodies ascend and nothing else makes sense

A love like migration
A love that is creation
Poems and harmonies and colors that didn’t exist before

Her hand in mine, salvation
Her eyes on mine, imagination
We create and grow and make a future that didn’t exist before

She is home
Her arms and freckles like stars
Her voice and warmth, no par

She’s an extension of my soul to which I will always fold into
A city hotel or a town with too many bells
I settle into her skin
Ready for liberation
