It depends, of course. The reason I set the five-year goal is that, for some reason, things blow up when you reach year five. You see this with businesses, too. They could be doing alright for four years, and suddenly, they reach year five and things explode.

However, I don’t know your past as a writer. Perhaps you’ve been writing for years already, and you might blow up sooner. My articles could blow up two years from now — who knows?

But I set the five-year goal anyway. I’m just following in the footsteps of other people. James Altucher talks about the five-year goal, and others have too.
