How to Find a Single Moment to Breathe

And find your peace in any moment.

Peace is watching her while she sleeps. It’s reading on the couch while the clouds cry. It’s the contrast between dark green leaves and a clear blue sky.

It doesn’t have to be a summer vacation in Cancun. Or water so clear you can see the sand on which you stand. Or a walk by the lake you have to drive three hours to reach.

Peace is a loud evening with a toddler who refuses to put on their clothes and endless laughter on your end. It’s a last-minute barbeque with friends after work. It’s holding your partner’s hand while walking through a crowd.

It doesn’t have to be a planned trip with no kids. Or a holiday on a cruise ship. Or far away from home. Or expensive. Or even something you can only dream of.

Peace can exist right now. In the midst of a thunderstorm, you can stand on the other side of the window and watch the raindrops race each other on your window. Or you can put on your rain boots and step outside.

You define peace, and you decide when to feel it.

You can close your eyes and enjoy the sun on your skin for thirty seconds before walking back into the abyss. And it’s not about pretending that you’re happy when you’re not. It’s not about finding the good in the bad.

It’s about allowing yourself a single moment to breathe. To remember you’re alive.

Find your peace, and wallow in it.
