This is the best piece of advice for me right now. I’ve been re-writing my beginning for months now – which I’m ashamed to admit.

But I don’t regret it. I’ve managed to learn so much since I keep putting the characters in new settings and opening scenes.

But I just want to write the damn book, and I never imagined it would be this hard. I know what my inciting incident is, though, so I’ll do what you said. Write that, and then work backwards from there.
