It’s the same goal I’ve had for a year and a half. To jump on a plane and then fly into my girlfriend’s arms as soon as I see her at the airport.
Why the universe decided to flick us onto different continents I’ll never understand. But that’s the reality.
Today is May 8. I work at a school as an ESL teacher, and my supervisor has asked me to stay on as a teacher until August 18. Considering that I don’t even have a bachelor’s degree and that I got hired because of a lucky mistake, it’s a great opportunity.
But that’s three months longer I am away from her. But it’s a chance to make more money so I can actually move. But it’s three more months on top of the five we’ve been apart. But it’s only three months. But it’s three months.
It’s funny how different events and people can alter time. Three minutes in a classroom sometimes feels like twenty-three. Three weeks with the love of your life can feel as long as a blink. 5 months away from that same person feels like 5 years.
